Help for Jesse Huntington's ICU Stay & Aftercare
Donation protected
Updated: Hi, my name is Chris. I’m starting this go fund me for my very close friend, Jesse Huntington, who was in a very bad car accident late on Thursday night around midnight on March 1, 2024 in Jefferson, Ohio. Jesse hit a ditch and rolled the car multiple times and was ejected from the vehicle and thrown between 150 and 200 ft away from the vehicle at approximately midnight and was found the next morning in a field in water unconscious making noise unable to talk by the owner of the property who called for help. Jesse was life flighted to UPMC Hamot in Erie in the ICU unit where he was placed on a ventilator and suffered a minor brain injury with some brain bleeding, 3 spinal fractures, a broken nose, bruised kidney and lung, frost bite on his feet, his hands, legs, and face have bruising, and he had fluid in his lungs that doctors were able to suction out. His body temperature was 86 degrees when he arrived to the hospital by air lift and the doctors had to keep him warm. As of Saturday morning, March 2, 2024, Jesse was taken off the ventilator and was breathing on his own but was still in a medically induced coma and heavily sedated. By Sunday, March 3, 2024, medical staff put Jesse back on the ventilator due to the severity of his brain injury. His parents, siblings, and girlfriend have been spending the days since the accident happened at the hospital waiting for him to recover and calling the hospital throughout the night daily to check for updates. The money donated will go to Jesse's parents to help to pay for travel to and from the hospital, and for any and all medical expenses needed to ensure Jesse is taken care of. As of March 19, 2024 Jesse is currently in the fight for his life to regain back his memory and to try to become who he was before the accident occured. At this time, Jesse has no memory of the accident and barely remembers family. Jesse has been confined to restraints since arriving at the hospital due to the severity of his brain injury and does not remember that he is in the hospital, needing constant reminders throughout the day that he is in the hospital and was in a car accident. This is going to be a long road of recovery for Jesse and his family. If you are able and willing, any donation would be greatly appreciated by Jesse's family to assist in paying for his ongoing medical care. Thank you to everyone who has messaged me and his loved ones to check on him and for all continued prayers.
