Help Iesha and Her Family Recover
Donation protected
On September 18, an unimaginable accident rocked the lives of Iesha and her children. Around 5:00 P.M., while in a parking lot, Iesha’s car caught fire and within minutes it exploded. With the help of complete strangers, Iesha was able to get her children, Dean and Elijah, out of the car just seconds before the explosion. Unfortunately, they did not make it out unscathed. During the fire, Dean channeled his favorite superhero, Spider-Man, and did his best to shield his baby brother from the flames, doing whatever he needed to do in order to protect his brother. His heroic actions allowed Elijah to make it out of the fire with relatively minor burns, however Dean wasn’t as fortunate. Dean had to be rushed to the burn unit at Metro Hospital where he’s currently being treated for second and third degree burns. Dean’s amazing personality shined through when immediately after escaping the fire, even though he was in incredible pain, he proudly told his mom, “Mom, I’m just like Spider-Man! I saved my brother!”
Dean has a very long road ahead of him as he recovers. With such severe burns on his face, arms, and legs, they’ve been in the hospital for weeks and are expected to be staying a few more. Once they leave the hospital, it will still be a significant amount of time before Dean’s injuries heal. Besides the physical pain, the event has been traumatizing for the entire family.
Iesha, who is the head chef at Propaganda Coffee, isn’t able to work right now with Dean being in the hospital. Her car was completely destroyed and everything inside was lost, including car seats, her computer, and some of the kids electronics and toys.
Iesha radiates positivity, regardless of any struggles she might face, in order to keep her family strong. She is such a loving and compassionate person, beautiful on the inside and out, and anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her can attest to that. She helps anyone in need, without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to help her when she needs it the most.
