Help Kelly Haggerty Beat Cancer!
Donation protected
Cancer has picked the wrong woman to mess with.
I am Ty Brown and Kelly is my sister. She has been diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer and has a long road ahead to recover, though recover she will.
She has an excellent support system in her faith community and friends up in Wisconsin, so she will have transportation, help around the house and things of that nature. But she is not going to be able to work for at least eight months as she goes through several weeks of chemo plus daily radiation, then several months of chemo and finally two rounds of surgery over 6 weeks.
No one who knows her at all believes she will lose this fight, but she COULD lose her apartment during this time, and that is where we all come in. Kelly has no PTO left at work, because she used all of it to come and help our mom when she fell and broke her shoulder. In fact, the year before that, she used her PTO to help Mom when she broke her hip. Are you seeing the pattern here? This is just who she is.
She has already researched and begun applying for every sort of assistance out there, but we set a goal of $20,000 to pay for rent and other living expenses while she goes through this process.
Well, I set the goal. See, Kelly is not really comfortable asking for help like this and it is going to be hard enough just getting her to share this gofundme on her FB page! So, even if you can’t donate any money, please be sure to post this gofundme on any of your social networks. The FB algorithm is a fickle and mysterious thing, and the only way to guarantee all of Kelly’s friends hear about it is to post widely and frequently.
She also loves hearing that you are praying for her and thinking about her, so don’t hesitate to comment here or to her directly if you want to offer some support. That means a lot.
So, if Kelly has ever helped you out, made you laugh or lifted your spirits in a time of need, now is the time to let her know you are grateful to have her in your life and that you expect her to be around for many more years to come!
