Kick Cancer with Carla

Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this.

This is Carla..... Partner, Daughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin and amazing friend to so many people.

Carla was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, an incurable form of cancer, on 11th July 2022. She was placed on a watch and wait scheme in the hope that with close monitoring, she would not need treatment for many years to come. So off she continued with her job as a singer, entertaining the many people that adore her.

Unfortunately, after a PET scan in January, we discovered that the cancer had grown significantly! Carla was reluctant to start treatment, as being self-employed as a singer, she doesn’t get sick pay from work or a whole host of other benefits, like paid time for hospital appointments. Since her diagnosis, she has been trying to do her very best to stay healthy and put money aside for when she is unable to work. However, over the following few month the cancer continued to grow at a rapid rate forcing the consultant to recommend treatment immediately! Carla's plan to save, save, save suddenly being put to a halt. Because of a compromised immune system, she can’t work, mix with other people, sing, and earn a living.

Carla started her first round of treatment this week, 6 rounds over 4 months, ultimately effecting her for the next 6-12 months. Although she is staying positive right now, the treatment will have a huge impact on her life, both emotionally and financially.

She has worked hard and been independent all her life. She's attended, and even performed, at countless charity events herself, and always being there to help other people.

I know lots of people are struggling with money right now, but if you could donate anything, no matter how small, it would be received with much appreciation. With a little help and support, you can make Carla’s life a little more comfortable at this difficult time.
