Ayuda para transporte a Colombia después de accidente

Nuevamente queremos tocar de nuevo los corazones de todos ustedes. Queremos pedir su ayuda para que María Fernanda pueda regresar a Colombia y reciba el cuidado y el amor que necesita. Ya que en este momento María Fernanda se encuentra en un geriátrico sin la oportunidad de rehabilitarse ya que no cuenta con los recursos para ingresar a una clínica privada por lo que es de suma urgencia regresar a nuestro país para que ella tenga una oportunidad de vida y poder así recuperarse.

El transporte del avión ambulancia nos cuesta 75 mil dólares.

Maria Fernanda Rico, a 20-year-old Colombian, was severely affected by a car accident on the night of October 24, 2024 in Stockton, CA. She has been in a coma since then and needs help with specialized treatments & therapies for her recovery. This can only be possible with your donation.

On the night of the accident, Maria Fernanda had pulled over on the side of the road just before the 8 mile exit due to a flat tire. Moments after she pulled over, two other vehicles were involved in a car accident just feet away from her. As a result of the two vehicles in a collision, one of the vehicles ended up hitting Maria’s car, which unfortunately ran her over as she was standing in front of it. When paramedics arrived, Maria had no pulse. She was revived and rushed to the hospital. The impact was so severe that she had to undergo emergency surgery for her spine and stomach. Unfortunately, Maria’s brain lacked oxygen when she went into cardiac arrest, which has left her in a coma. She spent almost 3 months at San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, CA fighting for her life. As of January 13th, 2025, the hospital transferred her to a nursing home in Stockton. The facility she’s in does not provide any type of rehabilitation services. We are desperate for help with resources such as specialized therapies that can help her recovery, most which will be out of pocket expenses because Medical doesn’t cover what she needs.

In the above photo, Maria’s parents were traveling to CA from Colombia on 11/22/24. It took her parents a month before they could travel from Colombia to be by her side, due to the lengthy visa process. The tourist visa granted to her parents does not allow them to work and they need your help to stay by their daughter's side. They do not have any family to rely on for help. They are currently unhoused, spending day and night at the facility with Maria. Some days, they don’t even have money to eat. The sole reason they are here is to be next to their daughter. Maria Fernanda came to California just 6 months prior to her accident in search of a better life in this country, never imagining it would change her life for ever.

Maria Fernanda will have a long recovery and needs her parents by her side. This can only be possible with your help. No donation is too small. Maria Fernanda’s sister, brother, nieces and rest of her family back in Colombia miss her immensely. They constantly FaceTime her to pray for her and give her words of encouragement. Some phone calls have even made her emotional, although she’s unable to speak, we firmly believe she can hear them. We all pray she will make a full recovery and return to Colombia one day to be a happy family once again.
