Help Support Me at World Class Kayak Academy

My name is Micah Pfeiffer and I am 17 years old. I started kayaking about a year and a half ago on the Snake and Hoback Rivers in Western Wyoming and learned a lot through the Jackson Hole Kayak Club. I instantly fell in love with kayaking!

This past spring I realized that kayaking motivates me to work harder in my day-to-day life. Since I've struggled over the years in traditional school, I decided to pursue an opportunity that would be better or my learning style. So I applied for, interviewed with, and was accepted into the World Class Kayak Academy!

The World Class Kayak Academy is a traveling high school that creates the world's top junior kayakers and "takes pride in being the first program to offer an exceptional education to student-athletes using whitewater kayaking as a vehicle to instill life lessons, build confidence, and hone life skills."

I'm in my first quarter of senior year already! It's awesome and challenging all at the same time. During the weekdays we get up early to exercise, attend school, paddle in the afternoons, make meals together, socialize, and study in the evenings. The big waters of the Ottawa River here in Canada are scary (see photo above)! I'm learning a ton of paddling and self-rescue skills, making new friends, feeling challenged by the academics, and excited to head north into Quebec to paddle the Mistassibi River next.

As a senior at the World Class Kayak Academy, I'll be graduating in May of 2025! It's a spendy opportunity, so I've worked a lot this past summer and will wok over breaks to help pay for school. I'm also asking for your help here since every little bit counts.
