Help me take my mother to my brother’s memorial.

Dear Family, Friends, and Friends of Friends,

It is with heavy hearts and immeasurable sadness that we announce the unexpected and tragic passing of my brother, Eric "Gunner" Peterson III. Ironically, Eric’s happy place, Mission Beach California would be his final resting place. His last apparent communication with anyone was a phone call he made to 911 on Sept 7. He was found days later at his apartment where he made that 911 call. His cause of death is pending an investigation by the San Diego Medical Examiner.

Eric was always looking for his next adventure mostly traveling around in his RV since his retirement. His favorite adventures hands down were with his son, Christopher, and daughter, Katie. He longed for so many more that would never come to pass. We are fortunate to have his life and adventures memorialized in his photographs as he was an avid photographer.

I am raising money to take my mother to be with family and friends to say goodbye to my brother in San Diego, CA. My mother lives in a skilled nursing facility in Woodland CA, is wheelchair bound, and requires the care of a nurse's aide. We will be flying to San Diego and looking to find a place to stay near the memorial service that will accommodate my mother's needs and provide a gathering place for her to be with family and friends. She has missed important family events in the last few years due to her circumstances. I promised her I would take her back to San Diego to be with family and friends as we all grieve and remember her son, my brother at his memorial service. More than almost anyone else, my mother should be in attendance to hear all of the tales of adventures Eric has had with the many family members and friends over the years.

I know this is a late request for assistance, but I have realized that this promise to my mother is much bigger than I could give her. Any amount, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated by me and my family. Please consider sharing my request with your family and friends. All messages of love and support will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to share any experiences or thoughts about my brother and our family that you may have.
