Help Randy recover from open heart surgery

Having a family member or friend with debilitating chest pains is frightening. However, witnessing them deal with these alarming symptoms for over a month while struggling to find a doctor to take it seriously is a shocking experience. No doubt the cost of not having insurance.
Our father, Randy Hornsby, continued to work during this time, stayed positive, provided for his family, and somehow never let this bleak outlook affect how he interacted with others. He finally found a cardiologist willing to see him four hours away in another state. It was deemed too risky to even perform a stress test at this visit, and he was scheduled for surgery to clear a clogged artery. During this surgery, it was discovered that both of his arteries were 90% clogged. He was only still alive because of a rare birth defect (Anomalous Coronary Artery) resulting in an artery on the wrong side of the heart. With this surgery not a viable solution, he was scheduled for a double heart bypass the following day. I’ll save you the gory details, but suffice to say that a successful six-hour open-heart surgery resulted on May 3rd. Randy is back at home now, a few weeks post-surgery, and recovering well.
He was two months shy of qualifying for short-term disability, so this has left him with a final paycheck until he can return to work. Two heart surgeries without insurance and an inability to return to work have introduced a high financial burden. If recovery, which takes 12 weeks on average, is perfect, he can hopefully return to work at the start of August.
We, his children, have created this Go Fund Me page to help support him during this recovery period and ease some of the impending medical bills. It is a tough time financially for much of the world right now. Still, any ability to help support Randy Hornsby is appreciated.
Randy Hornsby is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. He also happens to be the Father of five children he has sacrificed for since he was sixteen.
“He can be rough around the edges, but he never hesitates to provide for others in any way possible. Without his patience, guidance, and support, I wouldn’t be half as successful or a quarter of the father I am today. He is the inspiration that makes me want to be a better father and person.” - Nate Hornsby
