Help fund Michelle's cancer treatment, not paid by Medicare
Donation protected
A crowdfunding campaign for Michelle, a Ngarrindjeri Latvian Australian, battling Non-Hodgkins T-cell Lymphoma, an aggressive Blood Cancer.
27.11.2024
After one year of undergoing extensive cancer treatment and an autologous (self-donated) stem cell transplant, Michelle’s Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) has relapsed.
She now needs an allogenic (donor) transplant in early 2025 as well as critical daily treatment which is NOT covered by Medicare.
Treatment is due to start 4 December 2024.
Michelle has shown incredible strength and resilience over the last year, but the mounting costs of treatment, supportive medications, and living expenses are overwhelming.
Here’s some of what she is dealing with:
- Azacitidine Treatment: A vital part of the fight, NOT yet covered by Medicare for her lymphoma, but which shows positive remission success as a bridge to transplant, in patients overseas.
- Supportive Medications: Essential for managing side effects and maintaining strength during treatment, also NOT covered by Medicare.
- Everyday Expenses: While balancing work negotiations, accommodation and personal commitments, Michelle is facing other urgent costs like car repairs.
To ensure Michelle can access everything she needs without undue financial stress, we’re asking for your support.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference. Michelle’s haematologist/oncologist says he believes the AITL can be cured, but the road to remission will be difficult with a lengthy recovery ahead.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by Michelle.
With love and gratitude
