Help Teddy Walk Again - Surgery Needed

Teddy was rescued from a kill shelter in 2014 as a very sick but very cute puppy. After months of care, he was well enough to be adopted. A few years later, Teddy was surrendered back to his rescue group sick with liver disease. 

 

Many families looking for a dog passed Teddy over because he was 80 pounds & older, plus he needed costly vet care. The day before lockdown in March 2020, when things looked very bleak, Teddy hit the lottery: he was adopted by a new mom who loves him more than the world. Some pricey vet bills & daily medicine have the liver disease under control - yay! Lots of training, patience, & love calmed his frayed nerves.  All was going great.

 

Things got tough again in 2022. Teddy developed a tumor requiring a front toe to be amputated. He healed incredibly well only to go lame a few weeks later in a rear leg. Bad news: ACL tear. Surgery is the only treatment for such a big dog to avoid a life of pain. The surgery is EXPENSIVE though & his mom really could use some help on this one. Estimates range from $6000 to $9000, depending on his aftercare needs.
