Help us help Franki's son Alexis

On Saturday Nov 28, 2020 the unthinkable happened to our friend and community member Franki Leon. His 18-year-old son Alex was the victim of a stabbing—apparently trying to defend his best friend Joaquin.  Joaquin and Alex were both lethally stabbed.  Joaquin died that night, at the Westchester Medical Center.  Alex survived after a four-hour surgery and is slowly recovering at Maria Ferrari Children’s Hospital.


We are friends of Franki, of Franki’s Grill in Croton on Hudson NY. Franki has been a part of our community for over ten years.  His sandwich shop on Old Post Road, across from The Black Cow, next door to Senses Salon, is a fixture in the community.  Franki is a loyal supporter of the kids and the school and whatever is going on in our community.

We watched Franki’s son Alex grow up.  In middle school and high school Alex helped out at the shop and we got to know him.  He and Joaquin would run in and grab a sandwich and several drinks each, on their way to or from soccer games—their passion and joy.

We are raising funds to help Alex get his life back.  The family needs help now.  And we want to make sure that Alex gets the help he is going to need to recover physically, emotionally and spiritually into the future.  We want to make sure that he has the resources while he can’t work, and when he needs physical therapy.  And we believe he will need other types of therapy to recover from the trauma and grief.  And lastly we want him to have some resources for when he is ready to return to his education.

Croton On Hudson is an amazing community.  We are asking for your help for Franki, Alex, and the family.  Please give what you can.  Every dollar will help.  We want to show Franki how much we love him and feel for him.  We want to relieve the financial stress so he can concentrate on the hard work of helping his son get back to his life.
