a little about Atrie he was born with a lower G.I disability known as “Christmas tree Atresia “ or otherwise known as jejunal Atresia, this type of atresia caused his main artery to not develop correctly causing 75% of his lower intestines to deteriorate and fail in the near future. Artie was born via emergency C section and was resuscitated in the NICU for a little over 4 hours to finally get him stabilized. We soon found out that our son was born with this condition and that he needed to be transported immediately to have emergency surgery. Artie would then go on to have 4 following surgeries to try and fix his G.I blockage all four surgeries resulting in more intestines loss from scaring. We later found out of many other health complications that Artie had through many tests while he was undergoing surgery and staying long months in the hospital, Artie has autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, Which means his red blood cells self destruct as they’re being made, he has metabolic bone disease which causes his bone growth to be slow and painful, he has a heart PFO which causes his heart rate to drop very low and skyrocket very high. He is amino compromised meaning that everyone near him must be masked and have sterile gloves when handling him. Artie as well has Stage 3 B Severe CKD which is chronic kidney disease he is currently on track for a future transplant but complications due to his Anemia may make this challenging.

Artie has spent his entire life in the hospital fighting off many of these issues with his loving parents by his side the entire time vigorously fighting for his health care and fighting with hospitals to get him the proper care that he so needs desperately.

Artie is the little brother to his big loving goofy sister Berlin who misses her baby brother very much, because of his amino compromise he cannot be near his big sister because sicknesses for Artie can be life threatening.

our family has been on a long journey and our son is will be a year old in March, we have struggled with our bills and his medical bills losing our apartment in the process and relocating jobs to accommodate to his hospital stay we our up to our heads in medical bills from two hospitals and are trying to get back onto our feet, anything is appreciated a prayer a story of a similar experience or advice is all accepted to me and my wife during this troubling time.
