Help "Bird Walk" Documentary Take Flight
Donation protected
Hi, I am Cintia Cabib, producer of Bird Walk , an inspiring documentary which shows how local residents mobilized to transform the defunct RedGate Golf Course in Rockville, Maryland, into a public park. which is now a refuge for over 160 bird species and an oasis for birders of all ages and backgrounds.
Help Bird Walk Take Flight!
I am excited to announce that the film premiered to a full house and enthusiastic audience at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland on May 4, 2024. I am now launching an outreach and distribution campaign to ensure that Bird Walk reaches audiences throughout the U.S., inspires them to discover the joys of birding, and motivates them to help protect our declining bird population. This critical funding will be used to identify and work with environmental, educational, and community organizations so that they can use the film as an inspirational, educational, and environmental tool. Your donation will also fund the creation of a screening toolkit, which will facilitate discussions about the importance of bird conservation. I will also submit the film to environmental film festivals so that it reaches an even wider audience.
Your Impact
Birds are critical to a healthy ecosystem: they eat insects that destroy our crops, they are pollinators, they disperse seeds that keep forests healthy, and they scavenge carcasses, which prevents the spread of diseases. In North America, there has been a loss of three billion birds since 1970. Habitat loss, window strikes, cats and climate change have all contributed to the steep decline in the bird population. By supporting this campaign, you will help inspire kids and adults to appreciate and protect our declining bird population.
