Help Coley Survive Lymphoma Cancer
Donation protected
Our beloved golden retriever Coley has been dealt a bad hand. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer on February 7, 2018. He is only 4.5 years old and should be looking forward to a long and happy life with us.
We had just enrolled him in Therapy Dog training so that he could be used to comfort those who are suffering from life's unexpected ailments. But now, he has an unexpected ailment of his own. Coley is Hero #2790 (out of 3000 nationwide) golden retrievers enrolled in the Morris Animal Foundation Golden Retriever Lifetime Study for the cure of canine cancer. He has been providing the foundation with valuable canine medical data for the past 3 years in hopes that researches will find a cure for cancer. When we enrolled him in the study, we never thought that he himself would become afflicted with cancer.
He is now under the care of Dr. Karri Miller at Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) in Cary, NC. He has had several test and is currently undergoing 19 weeks of chemotherapy in hopes of putting the cancer into remission. His survival depends on it. As you can imagine, the cost is for treatment is enormous. We are not the type to ask for financial help, but for those of you who know us, and know Coley, you understand that we would go to any length in order to provide him with a long, happy, and healthy life. Because to the rest of the world he might be just a golden retriever, but to us our golden retriever is the world.
If you would prefer to make a donation directly to the Veterinary Specialty Hospital - Cary, NC in Coley's name (owner Pete Poggetti), please call (919) [phone redacted] and they will assist you.
Also, knowing there are people who misuse the GoFund site and in the spirit of transparency, feel free to verify Coley's condition by calling the VSH. Any donated funds not used for Coley will be donated to the VSH to help someone else who is stuggling financially with canine cancer.
