Help Ezilia See Her Children
Donation protected
Last week I met with Erzilia to make this portrait. I was acompanied by three Dominican activists. She asked for help so she can visit her two children in Haiti. She hasn't seen them since Tulile's murder in February.
Erzilia is staying with her parents in a basement "apartment" without windows. At the time of our visit there was no electricity. The heat and humidity were unbearable.
Her elderly father sells fruit on the street and her mother is unemployed.
Erzilia needs financial help to renew her visa and for travel expenses.
Every $10 or $20 helps. Donations of $100 or more will receive a signed photograph from me.
I personally guarantee all moneys collected will go to Erzilia.

Santo Domingo, 11 July 2015 - Erzilia Selima, 22, the widow of Henry " Tulili" Claude-Jean, 35, a Haitian immigrant who was lynched and found hanging from a tree in a park in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros in February. The day before nationalists had a demonstration and burned a Haitian flag. Authorities claimed he commited suicide. They were not able to explain how he hung himself with his hands tied behind his back. A month later there was a violent pogrom in the nearby city of Moca, where hundreds of Haitians and Black Dominicans were forced to flee the city. Photo: Tony Savino
