Help JP Recover From The Eaton Fire
Donation protected
On the morning of January 8th, my dad who many locals know as JP, lost his childhood home and everything in it, including his car, to the Eaton fire in Altadena. He evacuated with only the clothes on his back, his dog Birk, some of his medications from a recent liver transplant, and his wallet.
Unfortunately, he is without fire or house insurance.
His parents purchased the home when he was a child, and it was his pride and joy to keep the home in its original state. Throughout the decades, JP’s kids and more recently grandchildren, would meet at “the Marigold House” to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company. Stories about growing up in the Marigold House were shared so often.
My dad is a kind and friendly soul, who is friends with everyone on his street and surrounding community. His daily routine included a bike ride around the neighborhood with his soul mate, Birk, and sitting on the front porch relaxing and people watching.
He is a social worker for the Pasadena Public Health Department and has spent his career (and life) helping others. I am hoping to be able to help him in some way, through this fundraiser.
I am one of John’s daughters, Lindsay, organizing this on behalf of my dad. The donations will give my dad time to figure out the next steps. Any amount is deeply appreciated by my dad and the family.
