Please help my family in Haiti

My name is Belinda. I live and work in the New Paltz community and my family needs your help.

I created this account to ask for your help in supporting my mom and younger siblings in Haiti. My family is very vulnerable, living in abject poverty. The gang violence amplifies the situation; some days making it impossible to leave the house to find food. Additionally, my family’s home (a mud hut with a corrugated roof, no electric or water) was severely damaged by the earthquake that occurred in the south of the country two years ago and further damaged by subsequent tropical storms.

I am hoping to secure humanitarian visas for my mom and 13-year-old sister to leave Haiti, but that process is not a sure thing and is taking a long time. Meanwhile I’m trying to get a new corrugated roof on their house and a locking door.
