Salem Restaurant Employees New Year Survival
Donation protected
UPDATE 1/3/2021.. We reached our second goal in just 1 day! Just revised goal #3! We're going BIG! If we hit goal #3, we can gift a total of 100 restaurant workers in Salem! So much joy is being spread! We may or may not reach that, but it's ok. Thank you citizens of Salem and their friends! You can find videos of the "giftings" on Facebook by searching hashtag #OneSalem or #RENYSalem

We are SALEMITES! We rely on tourism. But for 10 months, and for the foreseeable future, our restaurant employees are hurting. Several businesses that are the staples of our community have had to close. We aim to help them weather the next few months. Our plan is use some of our stimulus check and help those in need by giving $100 to 50 (updated... as many!) local restaurant employees. We realize it's not much, but we also know every little bit helps . So Mark and I will start. We will keep records and make them available upon request. Anyone who donates here will know that 100% of their donation will go directly to an employee in downtown Salem. We are not taking any off the top. You don't have to donate $100. No amount is too small! This is a grass roots effort. Salem is a wonderful city, about to celebrate its 400th anniversary. We can help weather the next few months. We want you to join us! Help us out! #COVID #SalemMA #OneSalem #SalemTogether #WCVB
We would like to note, this is not a relief fund, nor is this a non-profit, rather an effort to bring a few smiles to a few people in Salem. The industry in Salem has been hit hard, and requires much more help than this little effort can solve. To assist those in true need, we encourage you to donate to BEHIND YOU! A 501(c)(3) that provides grants to those employees who have become ill, lost their job, or had their hours reduced due to COVID-19. You can find them here: www.behindyouinc.org.
