Smokey's battle with IMHA
Donation protected
Almost a week now, I started urinating blood.
I spent the next few days after that going to different vets to see what was wrong with me.

Day 3: They told me that my PCV(packed cell volume) or red blood cell count was at 20%---a normal dog's PCV is at 30% and 20% is considered too low for even surgery.
Day 4: After doing over 8 different tests, I was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). It is a immune disorder where my body goes around destroying healty red blood cells. My PCV was at 20% still, so they said I was stabalized and just had to start taking medication.
Day 5: I was so weak on this day that I barely moved. I accidentally peed myself, so I got up...
I ended up fainting and collapsing. I was rushed over to emergency care. When I got there I was barely breathing. The doctors were able to give me an emergency blood transfusion. They said my PCV was only at 7% when I arrived, causing my body to malfunction...I was dying.
This nice lady sat with me for 4 hours straight giving me oxygen.
After the blood transfusion my PCV was still at a low 15%, when doctors were hoping for 19%. At this point we found out that the medication takes 2-3 days to work and that the transfusion was only a temporary solution to prevent death.
Day 6 (today-October 24): This morning they re-checked my PCV and it dropped back down to 10%. Right now I am getting my 2nd blood transfusion. The latest my medicine with kick in is tomorrow night. At the rate I am going right now, doctors say I will most likey need one more blood transfusion. The hopital won't discharge me until it is at 20% again. My parents have already spent close to $4000 on me and tired out all there funds.
Please help me get one more transfusion. It's all I need to make it through this time. Everything will have been for nothing if I don't get this last transfusion.
I am not even 2 years old. I can beat this, I just need a little help from anyone who is willing to. Help me look like this again...
