Help Our Mom Fight Breast Cancer

My name is Ryan Steffes, my mother (Tara Steffes) has been the heartbeat of my entire family, not only has she been there for me and my sister (Hannah) but all who have crossed her path. She has been a stay at home mom for both my sister and I, we would not be the people we are today without her. My wife Bethany and I have been together for 8 years and had our daughter a little over a year ago and having a grandchild has been one of my moms dreams for a longest time, which she is an amazing grandma to our daughter.

Over the last few years Tara has had a few different health issues, some of which have resulted in the need for surgery. She has since recovered from those surgeries but as we all know, medical care is very expensive even with health insurance. So the bills never stop adding up.

Most recently Tara went into to the doctor for a routine mammogram. The results showed some abnormalities. She then needed to get further tests done which involved having multiple biopsies taken. The results from the biopsies showed she has Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) which is a form of breast cancer.

With this recent diagnosis, she has had numerous doctors appointments. Along with those appointments comes all of the bills, all while still having to pay for bills from previous surgeries and regular bills, it really starts to add up. In the beginning of June Tara will be getting a chemo port installed, along with many appointments.

Shortly after will begin to receive chemo treatments, which will be weekly and will likely last for months. After the long road of chemo treatments have been completed to help prevent the cancer from spreading throughout the body, Tara will need to undergo surgery and a long recovery along with more appointments.

I know this is a very trying time for my mother, as well as my father. I'm starting this fundraiser to try to help them out so they can focus on getting the treatment and surgeries needed to help our mother recover without the added burden of the financial side of this.

If anyone knows my mother, she offers so much love and care to other people. I'm asking for anyone who can and is willing to show some generosity towards my mother, it would be greatly appreciated. All the kindness will not go unnoticed!
