Tuna's Tumor
Donation protected
To my dog loving friends and Tuna's fan base,
A few weeks ago Tuna had a violent seizure in the middle of the night. After a long and terrifying night at VERG we found out via MRI that sweet Tuna has a glioma (brain tumor.) The glioma is effecting Tuna's sight, her ability to walk normally, her understanding of her whereabouts, her hearing, and is causing seizures. Otherwise, little imp Tuna is healthy as a horse with her usually quirky behaviors and iconic tongue.
As many of you know, Tuna is the ultimate underdog. She was abandoned in a box while severely ill, returned by her first adopted family for barking and then had to live in the shadow of Moby for years. We both have mourned our best buddy for months but Tuna is not ready to join Moby in heaven.
With the help of the neurologist at VERG we have decided to go forth with Cyber Knife Radiation treatment. The location of the tumor makes surgery impossible. This treatment is very aggressive but much easier on the pup than regular radiation. She only has to go through four treatments and the machine which gives the radiation is extremely exact so therefor averts damage to healthy tissue.
Of course this all comes with no small price. The treatments will occur in Pennsylvania at one of the only hospitals that specialize in Cyber Knife Radiation.

The treatments alone will cost $10,000 with additional costs for medications, follow ups, travel and room and board. I know that it seems like a lot, but I think we all know how special these creatures are and what they do for us and for the entire world. What is life without dogs?
Tuna is a sweet, sweet girl who I love to the moon. Her life has been too tough for her to go now. She deserves as much time on this earth as she can get. I hope you all will consider helping to get Tuna healthy and back to her strange self.
Thank you so, so much for your help. Anything you can offer is much appreciated.
Sloppy smooches from me, Moby, Tuna and Bao Bao.
