Hello , I’m Lama, I live in U.k and I’m helping my cousin Raghad and her family Rebuilding their home !
This is Raghad’s story in her own words.
Everything we see and say that it is the most difficult period in our lives, we are surprised by the presence of the most difficult period. Imagine living your life as a father who works hard to build a stable life for his children and a quiet home, 50 years and more of hard work from my father.
It left us all in shock and confusion about our matter. Suddenly imagine. To receive pictures of your house that you built with your effort and hard work, and it is completely destroyed, and even your entire residential area has been completely destroyed. Now I am receiving donations again. Perhaps this will help us rebuild part of our house. You helped me achieve the first goal of collecting travel costs for my family and to complete my education from me and my brothers, I am hopeful that we will succeed in the next goal. Continue to help me and spread my donation campaign.
Hello everyone, My name is Raghad Al Roubi ,
With heavy heart, I write to you about my experiences living in a plastic nylon tent on Rafah, suffering from illness, extreme cold, intestinal diseases due to malnutrition,, struggling in the mud when it rains hearing nonstop bombings! After being uprooted more than five times, we were unable to find anywhere else to stay except this tent .
No electricity and internet connection for more than four months!
I'm a girl who enjoys experiencing new things, living life to the fullest, and giving back to the community. Honstly, education is the most significant aspect of a person's life.
I know I can accomplish all of my numerous goals, but this conflict has taken away every aspiration and objective I had great enthusiasm for realising.
I started getting ready for my final year of dental medicine school in early October. I was eager to graduate and pursue further education in oral and maxillofacial surgery to help Gaza's community Regretfully, during the start of the conflict, my college, Al Azhar University, was bombarded.
It is the 148th day of the war, and things are growing worse and more confusing every day. We literally never know what's going to happen, therefore we always live in fear. We have had five evacuations from our home while carrying nothing in search of safety, but sadly, there is nowhere safe in Gaza, and every region is bombed without prior notice. I've been psychologically suffering since the beginning of the war due to the intensity of the frightening sounds of explosions nearby, which have caused me to constantly shake, lose weight, sleep poorly, and not eat. I will never forget the terrifying and difficult times I experienced during the conflict, ( in the northern part of Gaza )
The most difficult moments that passed for me and my family were when the Israeli army entered by ground with its tanks and we were sitting next to each other in the same room and we numbered 6 people, me, my father, my mother, my sister Hala, and my brother Ahmed and Hassan. They fired phosphorus bombs on our neighborhood, and we did the necessary first aid, me and my brother, Doctor. Ahmed, which involves applying wet compresses to the eyes for a period of no less than 15 minutes. The most terrifying moment was when a shell was fired into the room next to us, and the soldier, whose tank was only meters away from our house, began calling into the microphone, “You must evacuate the house quickly, otherwise we will arrest you all.”
We took responsibility for our lives and said goodbye to each other, perhaps for the last time. We left the house carrying nothing but a backpack containing important papers, a white flag in the right hand, and an identity card (ID) in the left hand. We walked behind each other, and suddenly we noticed that the soldier was calling for my brother, “the young man.” The one carrying a black bag stood there and came to us. “We simply did not have the ability to turn around to see him. As soon as you moved your head, they would snipe you!”
But My father tried to turn to him, the soldier hit him on the hand & leg He beat him with the weapon he was carrying, very hard and with great violence .. This beating was easier than killing him, because they killed anyone who tried to turn around instantly.
There are details that the mind cannot ignore or forget !
We walked on foot for 10 kilometers until we reached the house of my grandmother and my mother’s mother. All our thoughts were about my brother, who had been arrested by the occupation. Two days later, my brother returned to us and his captivity had been released. His face showed fatigue, torture, injustice, and oppression. I think. Psychological fatigue will not be treated even if years have passed since this war!
I've survived four violent battles previously, but this one was unlike any other that we've ever been in It's significantly worse than the sum of all earlier wars. I don't know whether I'll make it through this one. I always say, "I don't wanna die," during my panic episodes when I hear bombing sounds, and I still say that I truly don't want to die.I still have ambitions I want to accomplish.
Unfortunately, they don't let people travel back from the south to the north, thus we are unable to return to our heavily damaged and half destroyed home & The bombing of my university & my city has caused my dad and brother to lose their jobs. I have lost a great deal of dear friends and family. My spirit is unbroken in spite of these difficulties, and I'm committed to finishing my dental medicine degree in Gaza as soon as possible.
But, in order to finish my final academic year, I must leave Rafah. With the expense of $5,000 per person for my immediate family of six, leaving Gaza to enter Egypt through the Rafah crossing appeared unaffordable.
We are frantically attempting to rebuild and look forward to better days, so your assistance is really appreciated. All contributions, whatever of size, enable us to begin mending our dashed hopes. I humbly and deeply want everyone who is nice to assist me in telling the world about my experience and message. We appreciate your help and patience during this trying period. For my family and me, your support signifies a fresh start. It also denotes empathy and unity in the pursuit of justice and the preservation of human life.

Raghad.
