Help Restore Secret Gardens Candle Company
I have known Emily and Matt Vasquez for almost two years. Our boys are dear friends and I’ve never met a more loving and giving family. They would do anything to help anyone so when their local business was destroyed, I wanted to do something. Here are Emily’s words:
”On Tuesday February 16th we received a call that no one can prepare for. We were notified that the alarm was going off at our business and jumped in the car to meet police there. A mile down the road we got into a wreck due to poor road conditions... while we were dealing with that, we were informed that the alarm was actually due to pipes bursting or some kind of result of the ice/snow storm Oklahoma had been experiencing for a few days. No one can prepare you to walk into your place of business, still in the middle of a pandemic and see tens of thousands of dollars worth of inventory, merchandise and equipment destroyed by freezing water. We spent the next several hours trying to salvage anything we could before leaving due to the freezing temperatures and continued water pouring from our ceilings. Leaving what we have worked tirelessly over the last year+ and seeing windows covered in sheets of ice, ceiling insulation everywhere and water still filling up the floor was heartbreaking.
At this point, we are dealing with insurance to cover whatever we can but it seems our coverage will not be enough. Today we are looking at roughly needing about $100,000 that will help us cover damages and purchase things such as new wax melters, raw materials, merchandise, printers, computers, etc.
Literally anything would help us at this point. Wewould also like to donate 10% of the funds to a local homeless shelter
