Hemsby Independent Lifeboat NEEDS YOUR HELP
For nearly 50 years, our volunteers have been saving lives at sea and on the Norfolk Broads; since we started this rescue service, we have completed over 2,500 rescues. That is many lives saved.
All of that fine work has been done as a fully independent and voluntary charity, with support from members of the public.
Local conditions are putting our ability to continue saving lives at risk, and we desperately need your help...
Circumstances have changed for us in recent years. Due to a lack of central government funds, we desperately need your help due to beach conditions and our inability to launch and recover our Lifeboat, an Atlantic 75.
We have a solution to this issue, but we estimate it will cost us upwards of £100,000 to build the sea defences we need to protect our launch slipway on the beach.
Hemsby Lifeboat has never turned its back on a challenge, and we will be doing all we can to raise funds needed to ensure we can not only cover our running costs but also find the funding to protect our small section of the beach so that we can continue to protect those in peril at sea in our area.
Nobody wants to or could place a value on a life saved; all we know is if we can raise £100,000 from donations, we can save hundreds of lives by keeping our Lifeboat on active service.
We plan to use the funds to buy special materials and plant machinery to fully safeguard the area known as Hemsby Gap so that our Lifeboat can continue to save and change lives.
Please help us to help others by making a donation towards our total required so we can continue to serve and change lives...
