Holly Barksdale - Love you later

Our beloved Holly recently passed on 9/3/2022. Holly was a wonderful daughter, mother, wife, sister, & friend who touched the lives of those around her. She leaves behind her four beautiful girls Savannah, Riley, Madeline & Alyssa, her stepchildren Stephen & Shelby Barksdale, her husband Steven Barksdale, her mother Darla York, stepfather Charles York, her father Tom Forshee, stepmother Robyn Forshee, her brother Tommy Forshee, sister Jill Proctor, brother in law Mark Proctor, stepsister Dawn York, stepsister Robyn Wagner, brother in law Dan Wagner, & grandparents Fred & Sally Richardson.

Holly dedicated her life to her children, the people she loved and to her work. She was so compassionate and loved deeply. She loved watching the people she loved grow and thrive & loved being part of such a significant first responder family. She was always trying to better herself, whether it be in the gym or at work. Holly graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice DOCJT PSDA class 126 in 2019 and served Oldham County as a 911 dispatcher for 3 years from 2019-2022. She had dreams of traveling the world and moving to a foreign country. She loved history, historical sights and the idea of architecture that was old enough to hold incredible stories. Holly always wanted to rebuild an old mustang one day, and she loved music, every genre.

We are all devastated by Holly’s loss & we were not prepared. We want to give Holly the memorial celebration she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. A celebration of her life is being held Thursday, September 15th, 2022, starting at 12:30 pm at the John W. Black Community Center, 1551 N Hwy 393, LaGrange, KY 40031. Please join us in wearing green, as it is her favorite color.

We are asking for donations in lieu of flowers to help the family take care of her beautiful girls. We want to raise at least $10k to support the family.
