Please Help Feed and Care for Daytona's Homeless Cats

Donation protected
Hey guys!

I moved to Daytona from DeLand about 4 years ago and ever since, I have found a love for cat colonies! I love to take care of the cats and I always grow a strong bond with each one! I started with getting 2 black boy cats from this girl I knew who wasn’t in the place to take care of them properly. It was a whole litter and she chose to bring me the 2 I have now. I am forever grateful she picked these 2 because I couldn’t imagine life without them.

After the 2 new cats I had taken in, I also became fond of the colony of cats with about 10-15 cats, give or take the wanderers, etc. Out of that colony, I took in 4 cats, but sadly 2 went missing and 1 was hit :( but I do have one from a litter that a pregnant cat had. Lil Momma is what I call her because she was always pregnant until she was TNR’d.

I am always skateboarding around my town and always drop pins where I find a cat colony or even just some hungry cat! I have just come across a cat without a tail near a park and I have been taking care of him with food and water, but someone came by and threw out his dishes. I would hate to tell you, but there are so many angry and hateful people I encounter while just trying to feed and give water to some homeless cats. It’s Florida for goodness sakes, they need a source of water at the very least. So, I do whatever I can.

The cats seem to grow fond of the Squeeze Ups treats and they love when I have cans of wet food. I especially like to give wet food to the younger and older ones with bad teeth. Which gets a bit pricey.

It’s a passion of mine that I hope one day to have a sanctuary or a no-kill shelter type place where any cats in need can feel safe and be comfortable. I don’t want them to have to starve or die of dehydration. The mean people on the streets who want to do them harm and keep them from having the basic necessities is a horrible thing. I truly am and will only grow in being a strong advocate for the less fortunate cats who are literally discarded by some and don’t know how to even survive outside. I want these cats to be loved and know what affection is. Each cat deserves a home. I would love to foster and rehome any cats in need as well. This is my passion. The only thing in life that gives me peace and comfort. I do go through a lot of emotions about the cats because I grow a sincere connection with them and worry as if they are my very own. If I could let them live with me, I would. But I am going to hopefully reach my goal one day and be able to move mountains for these animals. I want to be able to feed the cats I come across and check on them daily with food and water 2xs a day and there are a lot of costs that come with taking them to the vet too because I drive a scooter and have to Uber to the cat when necessary. I took one to the vet in August and it cost for the ride and back and the visit $180. Cost of cat food is not that much but when you are trying to care for as many as possible in the community it does add up.

I would love to expand on feeding the cats more often and/or feed more and more that I find. If anyone can help with the costs of feeding 20 cats a day that would be a great help and I could apply more to vet costs because yeast infections in their ears are VERY common I’ve seen personally and have to be treated with antibiotics.

I love taking care of these cats, my life is much happier with their cute little meows. If I could justify to my fiancé the financial side a little better it would be wonderful because I really wish I could do more on my own for them but I would need help and support
