Honoring the Author, Rodney Wrice Memory - Funeral Fund
Donation protected
Born on August 8, 1966, in the vibrant streets of St. Louis, MO, Rodney's journey was marked by the unique experiences of his upbringing. Raised by his mother, Gloria Wrice, and deeply influenced by his grandmother, Cora Jones, Rodney's early years were filled with love from his extended family. In 1970, Gloria made the life-altering decision to move them to San Francisco, pulling Rodney away from the familial embrace of countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents in St. Louis. It was in the Western Addition, affectionately known as the Fillmore, that Rodney's life story truly began to unfold.
The absence of a paternal figure left a void in Rodney's life, one he sought to fill through the challenging streets of the Fillmore. By the age of ten, he was already navigating a world of lawlessness, searching for belonging among the shadows of the streets of Fillmore.becoming a writer, activist, and beacon of change. No longer defined by his past, Rodney's activism and prose now resonate with a powerful message of hope and transformation. As we remember his journey and the legacy he leaves behind, we invite you to support his final farewell through this fundraiser. Your contributions will help honor a life that, despite its struggles, found a way to shine brightly and inspire many.
