Hope For Rhonda Cox

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Scott and I wanted to start by thanking everyone who has or is thinking of donating to the Hope for  Rhonda Cox fund!

Now for a little insight of what happened to my beautiful loving wife.

Rhonda was a amazing nurse of 23 years, she help families, patients, and staff throughout the day by overcoming the obstacles a nurse goes through. There was never a day she didn’t smile and by that helped others smile through their pain.

On June 1st, 2016 at the age of 47 our lives took a drastic turn. Rhonda had her first ischemic stroke on the left side of her brain that impacted her speach and her ability to do her job.  This then resulted in unemployment which devistated her because she spent over 30 years of her life helping others and now she can’t.  Over the next three months Rhonda went through multiple therapy’s and was improving greatly.

On September 1st, 2016 two weeks after her 48th birthday she suffered a major ischemic stroke, this time on the right side of her brain which left her sedated for 7 days. She finally opened her eyes but she was left with no speech, almost no movement in her left arm, a feeding tube, and a trac. I never left her side by sleeping on the floor, in a cot, chair or wherever I could to be with her. Doctors and nurses suggested for me to go home and get some rest but I wouldn’t leave my wife’s side.

After months of therapy Rhonda made some improvements but not enough that her insurance dropped her. Everything then had to be paid out of pocket from medication, special food for tube feeding and doctors appointments.
She's heading home after months of intensive therapy.

After a year and a half I have yet to hear Rhonda’s voice. She tries but she can’t process the words to come out. Unfortunately, she requires 24 hour care which I myself give her but after all this time, there is HOPE . With the help of family, we recently found a video about this miracle shot. After watching this video I couldn’t believe that there is an opportunity  for Rhonda to regain back a better quality of life .

There is a doctor in Boca Raton, Florida who works for the Institute of Neurological Recovery who came out with a break through stroke treatment, that helps wake up parts of the brain surrounding the damaged area. After a initial phone consultation they have accepted Rhonda for this procedure!  Rhonda will have the opportunity by the end of 2018, to try this procedure, if we're able to raise the funds to make it happen. We need help from good hearted American folks to make it happen for Rhonda.

Unfortunately our insurance won't cover any of it and is a all out of pocket expense.
The trail shot cost alone is  $7,600.00 and she might have to come back for a second treatment.

Below is the website that holds the videos of this incredible trial shot in the working. After Rhonda and I watched the video done by 60 minutes of the school teacher, which brought tears to our eyes. After 3 years of her not being able to talk, she starts talking 22 minutes after being given the shot. Please watch, cause it gives hope to all stroke patients.

With the help of good hearted American folks, we can make this miracle come true and give HOPE, to hear my wife's voice again. Raising this money will help with medical and travel expenses to and from Florida.  As well as sharing Rhonda’s story,  to get even more people aware of the opportunity, to try the break through stroke treatment.

Thank you to everyone in advance for helping our dream come true.  GOD BLESS

Please share on your Facebook Timeline, Twitter with your family and friends! Ask your family and friends to keep sharing Rhonda's story.
