Heart Surgery for Jeremiah

Donation protected
Two days after Christmas, 13-year-old Jeremiah went into cardiac arrest. No warnings, no prior health issues...his heart just stopped.

Dead

Had it not been for his dad, Jeremy an RN, who was with him at the time giving him CPR until the paramedics arrived, this story would be different. The paramedics continued CPR and shocked him with a defibulator 3 times until he started to breathe on his own. He was then taken to the hospital.

Jeremiah is now recovering and undergoing testing at CHOC. During the discovery doctors said that he has 2 congenital conditions. WPW (Wolfe-Parkinsons White) Syndrome and Non-impaction cardiomyopathy. Both not good.

Jeremiah will undergo an intense surgery to have a defibulator implanted inside him; (that is the thing that shocks you while people yell "clear!") this will restart his heart when he has future heart attacks.

All of this, of course, is very costly. Jeremiah's dad has taken a leave from work to be with him during this time, and he is the sole provider for the family. In times like this people always ask how they can help...well, this is a biggie - money.
