Help Houston & family through BoneMarrowTransplant
Donation protected
Hello,
First and foremost, we want to thank you for taking time out of your day to be here. We appreciate every single share, every single donation & every single one of you.
We are the parents of Houston (4y/o) and Heaven (2y/o). Houston was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease at birth. It is a very unpredictable disease and can be life-threatening. We are very lucky & fortunate that his sister, Heaven, happens to be a FULL match for a Bone Marrow Transplant. This transplant would cure Houston of his Sickle Cell Disease. This will allow our family the opportunity to provide him with a better overall quality of life. With Houston as the recipient and Heaven as the donor, we are set to start the transplant process in August of 2023.
All funds raised will be used to assist the Humrichouse family as we begin to endure the lengthy process that comes with a Bone Marrow Transplant. Overall, we are expecting Houston to be hospitalized for at least 8 weeks enduring red blood cell exchange, chemotherapy, transplant and the recovery process. Heaven, Houston’s little sister & donor, will have a couple of days of hospitalization and recovery as well to donate her bone marrow.
As we transition into a part of our lives where both parents will be out of work and without a secure source of income; Donations will help us out with what we’ve calculated to be about 3 months of rent, utilities, & other expected living expenses. Since Heaven will not be allowed visitation at the hospital due to certain restrictions & policies, travel to and from childcare is another issue we’ve had to consider for living expenses.
Fundraising this money is particularly important to our family because it will allow us to spend our time focusing solely on getting our children back to health, without having to worry about making ends meet or rushing to get back to work. It could make a drastic difference in the time we are able to spend together with Houston during his recovery & the transition of bringing him back home.
We vow to pay it forward & help other Sickle Cell families with any funds that we do not utilize.
Once again, thank you for rallying behind us. We wholeheartedly appreciate all of the support & love we’ve received during this time. God bless.
Two very grateful parents,
Joseph & Jaclyn
