Who We Are
As students at the University of Tennessee, we were tasked to partner with a nonprofit organization to raise money for them. We chose to partner with the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley. We are very passionate about this organization because we feel that every animal deserves care and a good home, and we are advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. We want to raise money to provide care for neglected animals in the Knoxville Area.
The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley is, “A stand-alone 501c(3) limited admissions animal shelter, Humane Society, Tennessee Valley receives no funding from national humane entities or government agencies; relying solely on private donations and grant funding.” They take animals from other shelters to help in case of natural disasters, overflow, or lack of supplies. The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley also has a wellness clinic.
What We Need
Through this project we are hoping to raise $1000 for the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley to provide medical supplies for the animals in the shelter. Most treatments for cats and dogs are very expensive . They are looking to receive antibiotics, banadages, and equipment for their wellness clinic. With your help, we are hoping to raise over $1000 so that we can provide aid to these animals.

How It Helps
By helping to reduce the number of homeless dogs, the Knoxville community has bonded together to form a united effort against animal abandonment. With stray animals posing a high risk of disease, animal-human conflict, and local wildlife, it is paramount that we reduce the number of roaming animals to better the streets of Knoxville. With a 98% lifesaving rate, 765 animals put into loving homes, and 2004 total animals impacted in 2022 alone, The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley can be trusted to lead this charge.
How Else You Can Help
There are other ways to help the animals in the Knoxville area if you can't donate! Please help to share our campaign page, support the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley social media pages, and volunteer! There is also a list of items such as gently used dog bowls, beds, and leashes that you can donate that are just sitting around your house! Signing up for the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valleys newsletter can also be a great way to help support and spread awareness about this great organization.
