About the Hydra Cinema Club

The Hydra Cinema Club is a small and independent open-air summer cinema, and a film-lovers' treasure.

Under the helm of its president, Mr. Lakis Christidis, the Club has been organising the summer season cinema programme on the Greek island of Hydra for the past four decades.

As well, the Cinema Club has been hosting viewings of films made by directors and producers who are closely associated with Hydra, and actively supporting and organizing a broad range of cultural activities and events (most notably, tours to ancient Greek sites and—for the past 36 years—excursions to theatrical and musical performances at the ancient theater of Epidaurus).

The Hydra Cinema Club's annual operational budget is about $20,000 CAD. Any level of support you can afford is welcomed and greatly appreciated, and will be used to keep the Cinema Club up and running.
