Support Blue-line Brothers Blankets

Our Mission
My brother and I provide support to youth and families of fallen police officers all across the United States.  We strive to reach out to families of heroes that lost their lives in the line of duty, died by suicide, or illness.  We volunteer our time to send a Blue-line Brothers comfort blanket to the surviving family personalized with the officer’s department patch or flag, embroidered badge number or name, and End of  Watch date, along with a personal message card designed by us.  Our hope is to expand our outreach with the thoughtful support of our future donors for years to come.

Where it all began...
Blue-line Brothers Blankets is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that our family launched in the summer of 2018.  At that time, we were two teenage brothers, 13 and 16 years old, sons of a 22-year veteran of the Evesham Police Department in South Jersey.  Although now retired, one of his former responsibilities as a Lieutenant included establishing and expanding a Community Policing Unit to promote transparency and community outreach. My brother and I had attended many of the events he planned to build connections with the residents in our town.  We decided that we were ready for our family to volunteer our time to service our larger community by reaching beyond the borders of Evesham Township. We began this initiative supporting grieving families of fallen police officers in New Jersey and the surrounding states, however, we have expanded that territory to families nationwide. 

Our childhood memories of our dad working shift-work during holidays, nights, weekends and during our soccer games greatly impacted our family time together for the first many years of our lives.  Now as teenagers, we are even more aware of the risks involved in our father's career as his profession has been at the forefront of the news media in recent years.  In 2017, there were 128 reported on duty fatalities in the US and 83 so far in 2018 as of July 18th.  Those numbers do not include the fact that for about every 40 officers who are fatally shot in the line of duty, 140 more commit suicide. Police officers are also 30 times more likely to suffer from a heart attack due to the stress of the job. These statistics and the daily risks police officers face while protecting our community taught us to appreciate every moment we have together.  

In addition, our grandmother passed away of a rare genetic disease when our mom was a young teen.  Through this experience, she has taught us how difficult it can be for a child to lose a parent at a young age.  She'll never forget the positive impact from her community who reached out to lend support during her family's most challenging time.  Our empathy toward youth who have lost a parent and want to keep their memory alive, along with feeling the daily challenges of being a police family ourselves led us to creating this mission.

Every bit of the funds we raise for this mission is used toward the cost of the blankets, personalization/embroidery, sympathy cards and shipping costs.  If you know of any families that would benefit from our mission, feel free to use the contact link to inform us.  Aside from police memorial listings, many of our requests come from close family and friends of fallen heroes.
