iBot for Sydni
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Sydni, I'm 23 years old, and was diagnosed during childhood with a rare neuromuscular disorder called Friedreich's Ataxia, a degenerative condition that has only grown worse over time and caused me to require a wheelchair by the time I was 15 years old.
I'm now interested in getting an iBOT wheelchair, an amazing device that can actually give me some autonomy and really allow me to experience more freedom and open up more possibilities. What's more, now that I'm a newlywed, I'm looking forward to finally being able to go on my honeymoon with my husband. The iBOT would make ANY destination accessible!
Having consistent access to flat, paved roads for my wheelchair is something that we have been struggling with. The iBOT would allow me to travel all across the country, in any weather and on any terrain, and participate in clinical trials to help find a cure for FA. It would also allow me to go and meet others with my disability in order to spread awareness about FA, which is the primary driver behind my podcast and social media posts.
All-in-all, the iBOT would empower me, enabling me to bring attention to FA and the iBOT wheelchair for the disabled community, permitting me to go places without worrying about smooth terrain, faulty elevators or getting caught in rainy weather. The iBOT wheelchair would open up endless new avenues for me and let me live life to the fullest. Thank you for giving me a chance with this life-changing gift.
