WE GIVE A HOOT ABOUT AUTISM!!!
Hello,
My name is Craig "Hootie" Hooten and If you're on this site you're about to make a donation in support of an awesome cause. We are in the process of starting our foundation in support of our son Caleb Hooten (4 years old), Team Caleb and Autism Awareness. But until our foundation is fully up and running this is a way for us to start to collect donations or funds for our cause. Our foundation's name is "We Give A Hoot About Autism." Our mission is help families that have children with ASD and support educators that work with our little angels.
Your donation will go towards assisting families that may not have the financial means to pay for additional therapy for their child or children and to also assist with educators that may want to attend classes or courses that have a fee to attend.
For example, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers a 1 week course called TEACCH. It provides a theoretical foundation as well as hands-on opportunities to assess and teach individuals with ASD in a demonstration classroom setting. An emphasis is placed on the use of Structured TEACCHing principles to teach individuals with ASD skills in the areas of academics (literacy and numeracy), communication, independence, social and leisure, vocational, relaxation and coping strategies. Our first 2 ladies we would like to send to this course is Chelsey McDaniel (Pre-K Teacher at Fort Daniel Elementary) & Corinne Porte' (MSP, CCC-SLP at Fort Daniel Elementary).
This is just the beginning, we want to begin assisting families also with therapy sessions for their children. Therapy for ASD is not inexpensive and I personally understand the financial demand it can put on a family. So We Give A Hoot About Autism wants to be able to assist and bridge that gap so our babies get every opportunity to become assets to our society and thrive in every learning environment.
So with your donation lives will be changed and our educators and our little ones will be better equipped to tackle an already challenging task. Thank you for your support and may God Bless You. Your support is greatly appreciated.
With appreciation,
Team Caleb & We Give A Hoot About Autism!!!
