IMPACT Field Hockey - Our Journey to Cape Town
Donation protected
The NorCal Impact Field Hockey Club has been hard at work these past months creating the opportunity for an impactful and educational trip to South Africa this summer. This trip will combine field hockey, service projects, and cultural experiences for our female athletes, aged between 15-19 years old.
Highlights of the trip will be:
- Participation in the prestigious Cape Town International Hockey Tournament where we will face off against elite international teams from around Africa and Europe.
- Volunteering at Where Rainbows Meet, a children's and women’s shelter and bringing needed clothing or other basic supplies.
- A quintessential safari to the Kariega Game Reserve for unforgettable close-up encounters with African wildlife.
Getting a chance to immerse ourselves in the South African culture, and all the beauty it holds, while finding ways to give back to a community with so much need will be a transformative experience for our group.
With the estimated costs being $5,000 per player, getting to Cape Town is no small feat. We will be holding numerous fundraising projects (bake sales, yard sales, curb painting, field hockey clinics, and tournaments) in the upcoming months to help cover costs. We know these efforts will still leave a large cost gap, so we ask for your support to help make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a reality for each player. Additionally, 10% of all funds raised will be donated to Where Rainbows Meet.
Thank you!
