Support Midwifery - Out of Hospital Births
Donation protected
I am a full spectrum Birth and Postpartum Doula, and a graduate from Towson University (Towson, MD) with a degree in Biology and a dual minor in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics (MBIII) and Women Studies. During my pursuit of being a birth worker, I have fallen in love with holistic birthing methods which has driven my pursuit to become a Licensed Midwife. I am in great need of financial support to re-enroll into midwifery school at National College of Midwifery and have funds for childcare … as a new mommy pursuing my dream.
I am almost done fulfilling the requirements to become a Licensed Midwife/Certified Professional Midwife.
Currently, I have 14 births as an assistant to do, 15 newborn exams as an assistant to complete, and 7 postpartum visits as an assistant to complete phase 2 at National College of Midwifery - NCM. To complete phase 2 is about 3 months of clinical work under a grand Licensed Midwife, Certified Nurse Midwife or Certified Professional Midwife preceptor which I still need matching with as well.
I hope a preceptor in the 22304 zip code surrounding areas comes across my heart song which is also why I’m taking a leap of faith and starting this fund.
My school has ignited a strong sense of urgency for me to complete my studies. They have notified me that I have until Dec. 2025 to pass the NARM otherwise my hard work thus far will expire.
I have been a doula since 2011. My support experience ranges from VBAC, teen parents, and birthing people who have opted for a traditional hospital birth atmosphere, to home water birth practices. I have been fortunate enough to be mentored by some of the very best and established doulas, midwives and OB/GYNs in California and the DMV. I would be overjoyed to advance my education and be able to provide not only support as a doula but clinical care to our communities as a well-rounded Monitrice.
I truly thank you for reading this and I hope I am able to be a part of bettering our world's public health conditions. Thank you in advance for giving. Rest assured I will definitely pay it forward once I’m able to do so. For now and forever, I will be a birth worker and do this work as my almsgiving with a humbled heart.
Sincerely,
Ja’Nada
