Daltons Obituary: Born on April 12th, 2001 at the Trinity County Hospital, Dalton James Cooke was raised for the first 14 years of his life in Big Bar, Ca. He spent many Holidays including Christmas and Thanksgiving with his loving family. Dalton went to Junction City School for the time he lived in Big Bar. He enjoyed playing outside and building crafts. He loved legos with a passion and always wanted more. He loved to play video games with his older brother, Levi Cooke, and older sister Savannah Cooke. Some of his favorite memories were when we would go camping with our father, Vance Cooke, and our mother Laurie Haney. When he was a young child, our mother had complimented at how gorgeous the sunset was over Oregon Mountain. When Dalton peered over the window to gaze over the horizon, he said it “looked like God was having a celebration”. Another favorite memory of Dalton is when he, our father Vance, and sister Savannah went to the beach with the beloved Boxer, Romeo. Dalton would chase after the dog to get the frisbee from his grasp, but the dog was so taunting and playful. He really enjoyed a good chase.
When Dalton was 14, he moved to Fort Bragg, Ca to be closer to his Father, Sister, and Brother. He started fresh at the Fort Bragg High School and was an excellent student. Daltons was so loved by his teachers and peers, and was often commented on for his humor and kind personality. After high school, Dalton started work at Sea Pals restaurant and gained a very endearing work family. Dalton worked incredibly hard and was always on time. At the end of the Shift, Dalton would often sit outside the bonfire pit and hang out with Kyle Stone and many other friends who came to visit and grab a beer. When Dalton was about 17, him and his best friend, Jordan Broyles, went out to the bluffs for a nice walk over the glistening ocean. Jordan had lost consciousness and dropped down the cliff into the ocean. As Dalton witnessed what had happened, he quickly sprung into action and hurdled himself down the cliffs to jump in the ocean to save him and successfully did so. Dalton was a hero to many and impacted this community greatly. His arms of kindness have reached far and wide and have rooted deep into our hearts. The compassion he contained was unrivaled and his positive attitude unmatched. He had such a passion for animals that was incredible to see. At any given time he could stop because he saw a animal that he needed to pet or rescue. He absolutely loved his cat with all of his heart and had such a soft spot for his precious cat. He also loved Star Wars since he was a little kid and other shows like Avatar:The Last Airbender, Indiana Jones, and Anime’s. He spent the last year of his life living in Fort Bragg with his older brother and spent countless nights hanging out and enjoying movies together. Dalton was the life of the room and lit up every place he went.
