Infinite Step Team goes to NATIONALS in ATLANTA
Donation protected
The Columbia High School Infinite Step Team was established in 2010 and now has the opportunity to compete at a National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia!! This is the first time this team has had an opportunity of this magnitude.
Step is a form of dance where one uses his/her body as an instrument to make music. As one of the team members said, it is like "acapella dancing". Step has become a passion, family, challenge, and/or outlet for all of the members on the Infinite Step Team. We are more than just a sport; we are a community of support.

Alongside getting the opportunity to compete against some of the best step teams in the country, during their time in Georgia, there will be an educational purpose behind this trip as well. The team will be able to experience and visit historical places as well as connect with others from all different walks of life. The team will be getting a tour of a few Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCU), including Morehouse College, where the competition will be held, and Spelman College. This will allow them to learn about their history as steppers and Black & Hispanic young men and women. The team will also be visiting the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Park, where they will be able to see, first hand, the roots of the Civil Rights Movement.
With that said, it will take a lot of hard work raising the money to get the team from Maplewood, NJ to Atlanta, GA. We would need financial assistance to help make this dream come true!
(Note: Flights alone cost about $8,000.)
Please note that the Advisor of the Infinite Step Team will be withdrawing the funds into her personal account and distributing the funds for the airfare, hotel costs, food, registration, etc..
