Irene Peck Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Stephanie and I am Irene's daughter and her oldest child. I decided to start this campaign to help my mom with not only medical costs but also anything else she may need. My mom is currently a CNA at a rehab here in Providence, RI. She is funny, smart, spicy, and so loving. She is also the strongest woman I know and I am pretty sure anyone who knows her would agree. My mom has been a single mother since I was 8. She has raised my brother and I to the best of her abilities. We've always had everything we needed and we even had the priviledge of going to college! Our memories are filled with many good times with her.
Unfortunately, my mom and cancer have not been the best of friends. The last five years she has dealt with three different cancers attaking her body. The first time it was in her breast and she was so lucky to only need minor treatment. The next one was uterine cancer and with that a partial hysterectomy fixed that, so we thought. This now brings me to August 2017. The cancer cells from her previous cancer encounterment somehow managed to travel to her lungs and also her lymph nodes. With this, her right lung is suffering with a tumor that continues to grow very quickly. In just two weeks it has doubled in size (16cm long). Her lung cavity has accumulated a lot of fluid to the point that she feels a constant pressure in her chest, one that she describes as a pile of bricks on her chest. Even the slightest movement requires an enormous amount of energy on her part.
She has been hospitalized many times, I guess this is her new home for awhile. She has undergone many treatments. She has had the fluid drained three times via needles and tubes (very painful procedure with nothing to numb the pain); a biopsy; blood transfusion and also lung surgery. The fluid is now back and more than ever and if matters could not get worst she now has pneumonia (lung infection). As of now, my mom is on medication to make her feel comfortable and antibiotics to rid the pneumonia. We still don't know if she is eligible to have chemotherapy or what the plan is moving forward to keep her alive.
Regardless of everything going on, my mom has kept her faith. She has not once doubted God and his plan. With all that I have provided you, a little goes a long way. This will help her with all medical costs and even help her keep the home she works so hard to manage. With your donation I ask that you say a prayer for my mom.
With my whole heart, I say thank you.

xo.
