It's All About TLC

In March of 2015 everything changed for Traci and her family when they received the devastating news that Traci was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia.  

After her initial diagnosis, she spent a month in the hospital receiving chemotherapy.  Then in July of 2015, she received a stem cell transplant with stems cells donated by her brother Tyler.  Spent yet more time in the hospital, hotels and countless 2 1/2 hour car rides to the Dallas hospital to receive medical care.

Traci was finally able to go home and although not completely out of the woods, she was in remission.  

Unfortunately, the remission did not last.  Traci had to go back into the hospital to receive more chemotherapy. This time though is a lot different.  

Traci has pnuemonia, caused by the fungus Mucormycosis.  For a healthy adult,  this fungus is filtered out by our immune systems; Traci does not have an immune system.  As a result of the pnuemonia, Traci has been placed on a ventilator in order for her to be able to breathe, keep her heartrate down, and give her body the chance to heal itself.  Traci's white blood cell count is also low, which does not help in the healing process.  

As you can imagine, between treatment, hospital visit's, medication and just the daily expenses, life is difficult for Steven (Traci's husband), three kids (Lacie, Chance and Gage), and her beautiful granddaughter (Paislee). Steven is at the hospital everyday, watching over Traci, talking to the doctors and nurses, ensuring that Traci is receiving the best of care.
