Jose' de Diego Robotics Fundraiser!

The Jose de Diego Robotics Club is a team that wants to participate in Vex Robotics National competitions, and present at the Museum of Industry during National Robotics week (April). Last year was our first year competing in a regional competition in Oak Park and we won The Sportsmanship Award. The competitions are exciting games of skill and strategy. In addition to just having a great time and building amazing robots, students learn many academic and life skills. I am extremely enthusiastic about your participation. With your support, our school can give our students, a chance to “be the best that they can be”.

De Diego Academy is a neighborhood elementary Chicago Public School. Given that 93% of our student body is comprised of children from low-income households, having programs like Robotics available to our students is especially important. Our families financially and culturally often cannot provide children with opportunities to develop science, technology and math skills such as those presented through our Robotics Program. Our students want and deserve an opportunity to learn 21st century programs that will put them at the leading edge of tomorrows job force. We are seeking sponsors who believe, as we do, that supporting Robotics is an investment in the future. Today these young men and women are learning about creativity, hard work, and deadlines—important lessons for the leaders of tomorrow and for Chicago’s future workforce.

Robotics at De Diego can help our students reach their full potential of being college- and workforce- ready. In order for us to achieve this critical objective, we are asking that you assist us in raising $5000, to cover the cost of updated equipment (sensors, parts, Robotic Kits, programming).
