In Memory of JADEN FRANCOIS-ESPRIT

Donation protected
Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit and hopefully donate to our cause.

To those who know our story, thank you for your continued support and to those who are new, here's an overview of who we are and why we are taking on, for the second consecutive year, a huge challenge in memory of Jaden Francois-Esprit.

Who we are
We tragically lost our beautiful Jaden to Suicide in August 2020, he had just turned 21 years old.

The JADEN FRANCOIS-ESPRIT Collective (JFEC) CIC aims to empower individuals to combat workplace discrimination and bullying with a specific focus on neurodivergence and suicide awareness & prevention.

We do not want anyone else to suffer or experience discrimination, bullying or harassment like Jaden did at work, believing their only option is to end their life.

The Hike
It all began when my friend Paige set a challenge in 2022 to climb up, then slide down, the tallest slide in London - it may not seem like a lot but she was scared of heights and I was just petrified full stop.

However, after losing Jaden I felt nothing could be worse than the trauma of losing my precious son, so I made a promise to myself to say YES to anything asked of me (within reason).

Linda & Paige - ArcelorMittal Orbit, May 2022.

In 2023 Paige approached me again and said 'how about climbing Snowdonia." I still remember thinking she was crazy, then remembered my pledge to say YES... so with no previous hiking experience, minimal preparation we naively set off and thankfully achieved our goal.

Another hike was not planned, I think Paige likes a challenge) so when Paige suggested BEN NEVIS this year, I only hesitated for a moment.

The reason I hesitated was the memory of how challenging SNOWDONIA had been. It was harder than I expected and not the fun day I’d envisioned. So, another challenge had to be bigger, harder and worthy of your donations. I believe BEN NEVIS fits the brief.

This year 6 of us will be taking on the BEN NEVIS challenge. Please support us!

Your Donations
All of your donations will be used for JFEC’s annual community event ‘SHINE-A-SPOTLIGHT’ and with your support, we can ensure financial barrier does not prevent anyone from accessing the resources and support we provide on the day.

Your donations will enable us to cover the venue costs, materials and other essential expenses.

Thank you
