Justice For Lee Coleman

Lee Coleman is a Certified Private Protection Officer through Street Veterans Urban Protection Agency. He is committed to protecting activists all around the Twin Cities.
On November 11th there was an emergency Protest at Prior Lake High School following a viral video of Nya Sign being bulled by a racist white girl at her school. Lee was on assignment and was one of the first people at the scene to make sure the Peace was kept throughout the event.
During the peaceful Protest there was an altercation between students that he quickly deescalated without a scene. The police were called on Lee for his legal firearm being visible during the altercation while on school grounds. Lee was met with a sizable amount of police force to remove him from the property after deescalating the situation single handedly. Lee kept calm and followed all the officers instructions moving away from the protest. Lee’s firearm and permit to carry was taken away immediately and he was given property receipt of his firearm.
Lee’s Civil Rights were violated by the Savage Police Department because the police officer illegally took away his registered firearm according to statue 152.01 section 609.531 where it states, “A firearm carried in violation of this paragraph is not subject to forfeiture.” Lee was denied the statue violation paper he requested on scene and was told he would be arrested and charged on site if he requested it from another officer or if he were to call the Department and ask for the chief.
Lee is currently being charged with a Misdemeanor for carrying a firearm on school property. We are currently raising money for Lee to get a lawyer to fight this charge, get his permit to carry card back and to purchase another firearm as his will remain locked up in evidence so he may retain employment as a certified Private Protection Officer.
