My name is Jessica Godoy, and I am a 20 year old college student. I am here to ask for your help!
I had a surgery back in March for a cyst removal on my right ovary. It was my first time in the hospital, and it was the scariest experience of my life. If you knew details, you would agree. Recovering from the surgery was hard to deal with because I had to stop physical activities that I did, like teach fitness classes. As difficult as it was not being able to do half of what I used to, I kept going to my academic classes, doing homework, and studying, which earned me a spot on the dean's list for this past spring semester. You might think the surgery was a step back, but nothing stopped me from moving towards my goals!
Although the surgery was successful, unfortunately, there was a tumor that the doctors weren’t convinced about. They felt something was wrong. I met with the doctor mid April, and he told me the tumor was tested, and it came out to be cancerous. I was diagnosed with staged 1c ovarian cancer. June 11th, I started chemotherapy, and I have had 4 cycles of treatment since. Ever since my surgery, I have been getting medical bills almost every week, and you can only imagine how much has added up. Unfortunately, my health insurance was only able to cover a certain amount of the medical bills, which leaves me in need for your help to pay off the rest.
I'm not one to ask for so much, but I am asking all of you—family, friends, coworkers, and concerned strangers— for financial help. Any donation—no matter how big or small—is greatly appreciated, and all funds will go directly to pay off medical bills.
I thank you all in advance!
