Jacinda Turner Fundraiser
Donation protected
You may or may not be aware that Dennis Turner's daughter, Jacinda has been diagnosed with Gastroparesis and has been battling the illness for the past 9 months. Gastroparesis effects the nerve of the stomach and stops if from functioning and allowing food to progress through the stomach and into the intestine. The side effects of Gastroparesis include weight loss, fatigue, nausea, stomach cramps/pains and hair loss to name a few and results in many trips to hospital. Jacinda has had numerous difficulties with surgeries not having the desired outcome causing a lot of distress to the tight-knit Turner family.
In order to obtain food and nutrients, she has had a tube inserted directly into the intestine to bypass the stomach along with a vent tube to remove bile from the stomach. The suspected cause of the disease is a virus or possibly stress related and there is no known cure or treatment for the disease.
You can find out more about the disease by watching the video attached and also keep yourself updated with Jacinda's progress by following the facebook page called Gastroparesis Launceston Facebook.
We are trying to raise money to cover Jacinda's ongoing medical bills and a possible trip to the mainland for her and a family member to seek other medical advice. We are not asking for huge amounts, just something that you can spare at this hectic time of year to help Dennis and his family.
Anyone that knows Dennis will know he is extremely passionate and loves his family more than anyone else I have ever seen and to see him in tears as he was about to leave work for the Christmas break to spend time with his family really struck a chord with me because he has such a tough facade. We'd like to help the family out as much as we can so please get behind this with anything you can.
