What Happened
Jacob Keaweaimoku Modesto Cabuag III, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on March 28th, 2017.
On Friday, March 24th, Jacob Cabuag, 28 years old, suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the emergency room. He underwent CPR for approximately 45 minutes before stabilizing at the hospital ICU. During the next 72 hours, Jacob went through a standard hospital protocol for these types of emergencies. The first 24 hours his body temperature was reduced to help preserve the brain. The next 24 hours the body temperature was slowly raised back to normal.
In the final 24 hours doctors tested to see if there was any brain activity and if Jacob’s body could breathe without a respirator. Unfortunately, it was determined that Jacob’s body could not breathe on its own. The final test was a brain scan - the doctors introduced dye to the blood in his brain to determine brain activity. Unfortunately, there was none.
What's Needed
Jacob endured several tests and procedures by medical staff at Providence Regional Medical Center, adding additional financial hardship to his family during this difficult time. We are asking for any donation, large or small, to help the family cover the final costs of Jacob Keaweaimoku Modesto Cabuag III’s life.
