Help for Jacq’s Brain Tumor Surgery & Recovery
Donation protected
Thanks for stopping by - this is a campaign for my sister, Jacqueline Henderson, and her family (husband Andrew, daughter Estrella (5), and sons Rainier (almost 3) and River (2.5 months)) as they navigate her brain tumor surgery and recovery.
The Back Story
On June 24, Jacqueline gave birth to baby River.
Baby River
He was born healthy, but, shortly after the birth, she started to experience problems with her blood pressure and headaches. When Jacqueline had a headache that she couldn’t shake, she was re-admitted for pre-eclampsia symptoms.
After an MRI to rule out any blood clots in her brain, the neurologist discovered a large tumor attached to her brain stem. She was then diagnosed with an Epidermoid Brain Cyst (non cancerous!)
MRI, tumor circled
Where We Are Now
Jacqueline is scheduled for brain surgery on September 27, 2022 with Dr Fukushima in Raleigh, North Carolina. He pioneered several techniques and tools for her type of tumor. Dr Fukushima has removed over 400 Epidermoid Brain Cysts and is considered the current world expert for this surgery. Jacqueline had also met with Neurosurgeons at the Mayo Clinic and Dr Fukushima is the best chance to possibly remove the entire tumor. If the tumor is not able to be fully removed, she will need future surgeries as the tumor will continue to slowly grow.
Rainier (almost 3)
What the Donations Cover
With having brain surgery across the country, there are the increased associated costs - not only for the surgery, but also travel/food/hotel costs.
She will also need 12 weeks of recovery off work, as she rehabilitates after the brain surgery.
Estrella with River
All funds will go to pay off bills associated with the surgery and the accompanying expenses during recovery. Please help us lift the financial burden off Jacqueline and family’s shoulders.
