Help James Rest and be safely Housed

To those of you who don’t know me, I’m a TwoSpirit non-binary mixed Indigenous Romani and European chronically ill artist, community medicine carrier, survival s*x worker and SA + DV survivor trying to escape an 11 year dance with homelessness.  I’ve hit survival and Autistic burnout as I’ve been frantically trying to survive the last year of covid impact on my streams of revenue; I have no back up, no familial support in which I can lean into.

CW: Foster Care Neglect and Manipulation 

I don’t often tell people about being a foster kid and the impact of being taken from my parents and being raised without contact to them. My foster guardian kicked me out when I was 18 for being queer and then later when I came out as trans she drained my CD account of 8,000$ all funds that I had worked for and saved but she was the guardian on the account. When finally confronted I was given the response, “Do you know how much it costs to raise a child?”

I know how much it costs to raise my inner wounded child who never received the kind love of a mother or father due to their own short comings and my guardian’s manipulative actions of returning any and all mail for me from my parents. I was regularly reminded that I “would be on the streets if it wasn’t for [my guardian]” and that I was there with her because “my parents didn’t love me,” which are words a 7-17 year old shouldn’t hear during development.

Neither of my parents are interested in having reconnected reconciliation so I am here as a single parent to myself asking for help in finding some stability and allowing myself to rest with bills paid for a moment in time.
