Jason Rife Medical Expenses
Donation protected
On early Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017, Jason Rife was heading home after dropping off a friend. As he drove, he noticed a man walking slowly in the street. As he slowed to see if the man needed help, the man opened fire, shooting Jason five times in an attempted carjacking. It turns out the man was one of a pair of serial carjackers who had been terrorizing Dekalb county throughout the night. Fortunately for Jason, he could see a fire station nearby. He somehow managed to hit the gas, and he miraculously made it to the station before falling out of his vehicle and collapsing. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he remained in critical condition for almost a week. His survival is a miracle, and we are grateful for it.

Jason is home now and recovering, but his expenses are overwhelming, and they are still mounting. They will only grow larger throughout the rehabilitation and physical therapy process. He has already been through several surgeries, with more to come. He will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future, and he and his family have suddenly gone from two incomes to one.
Jason is a loving father, an amazing friend, and an all-around great person. He would be the first one to help you if you needed it. Now we're trying to help him. His wounds are not only physical, but emotional as well. By offering him support during this critical time, we can show him that he is loved, and that he is not in this alone. All donations, no matter how big or how small, will be received with love and gratitude.
